Privacy Policy
Candy Corporation (hereinafter referred to as 'the Company') has established the following privacy policy (hereinafter referred to as 'this Policy') regarding the handling of personal information of users (hereinafter referred to as 'Users') of the Company's services. By ensuring all employees recognize the importance of protecting personal information and thoroughly implementing these measures, we promote the protection of personal information.
1. (Personal Information)
'Personal Information' refers to 'personal information' as defined in the Personal Information Protection Act (Law No. 57 of 2003, hereinafter referred to as the 'Personal Information Protection Law'). It is information related to a living individual, which can identify a specific individual based on the name, date of birth, and other descriptions contained in the information or includes a personal identification code.
2. (Purpose of Using Personal Information)
The Company will collect and use the personal information of Users within the scope necessary for the following purposes. If we use personal information beyond the scope of these purposes, we will obtain consent from the user in advance using appropriate methods.
- 1. To provide the Company's services (hereinafter referred to as 'the Service').
- 2. To improve and enhance the Service or develop new services.
- 3. To inform users about new features, updates, campaigns, etc., and other services provided by the Company (including emails, flyers, direct mail, and other means of communication).
- 4. For necessary communications such as maintenance and important announcements.
- 5. To respond to opinions, inquiries, etc., from users regarding the Service (including identity verification).
- 6. To report the usage status of the Service to users and other stakeholders of the Company.
- 7. To request cooperation in surveys, interviews, etc., related to the Service, invite participation in various events, or report the results.
- 8. To research and analyze the usage history of the Service and use the results for improving and developing the Service and delivering advertisements.
- 9. To provide personal information to participating companies in events organized by the Company based on the consent or application of the user.
- 10. To identify users who violate the terms of use or attempt to use the Service for fraudulent or inappropriate purposes and to refuse their use.
3. (Management and Protection of Personal Information)
We will strictly manage personal information and will not disclose or provide data to third parties without the consent of the user, except in the cases listed below. We will also take measures to prevent risks such as unauthorized access to personal information, loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage of personal information, considering safety.
- 1. When it is necessary to protect the life, body, or property of a person and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent.
- 2. When it is particularly necessary for the improvement of public health or the promotion of the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the user's consent.
- 3. When it is necessary to cooperate with a national institution or local public body, or a person entrusted by them, in performing the affairs prescribed by laws and regulations, and obtaining the user's consent is likely to hinder the performance of the affairs.
- 4. In other cases permitted by law.
4. (Entrustment of Personal Information Handling)
We may entrust the handling of personal data, in whole or in part, within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use. In such cases, we will thoroughly assess the qualifications of the entrusted party, stipulate matters related to confidentiality in the contract, and conduct necessary and appropriate supervision over the entrusted party.
5. (Disclosure of Personal Information)
When a user (limited to the individual in question; the same shall apply in this paragraph) requests the disclosure of personal information held by us, we will disclose it to the user without delay. However, we may not disclose all or part of it if disclosing it would fall under any of the following. If we decide not to disclose, we will notify the user without delay. Please note that there is a fee (1,000 yen per case) for the disclosure of personal information.
- 1. If there is a risk of harming the life, body, property, or other rights and interests of the user or a third party.
- 2. If there is a risk of significantly hindering the proper execution of our business.
- 3. If it would violate other laws.
6. (Correction, etc., of Held Personal Data)
- 1. If a user finds that the personal information held by us is incorrect, the user can request us to correct, add, or delete the said personal information (hereinafter referred to as 'correction, etc.').
- 2. Upon receiving the request mentioned in the preceding paragraph, we will promptly conduct the necessary investigation, and if we determine that there is a reason for the request, we will promptly make the correction, etc., of the personal information.
- 3. Once we decide on the implementation or non-implementation of the correction, etc., based on the preceding paragraph, we will notify the user without delay.
7. (Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.)
- 1. Users can request us to suspend the use, delete, or stop providing personal data held by us to third parties (hereinafter referred to as 'suspension of use, etc.').
- 2. Upon receiving the request mentioned in the preceding paragraph, we will promptly conduct the necessary investigation, and if we determine that there is a reason for the request, we will suspend the use, etc., of the personal data. However, if the suspension of use, etc., requires a significant cost or is otherwise difficult, and if alternative measures can be taken to protect the rights and interests of the user, we will take such alternative measures.
- 3. Once we decide on the implementation or non-implementation of the suspension of use, etc., based on the preceding paragraph, we will notify the user without delay.
8. (Procedure for Changing the Privacy Policy)
We will periodically review the contents of this policy and strive for improvement. The contents of this policy can be changed, excluding matters stipulated separately in laws or this policy. The revised privacy policy will take effect when we notify users by a method specified by us or post it on our website.
9. (Compliance with Laws and Norms)
We will comply with Japanese laws and other norms applicable to the personal information we hold.
10. (Response to Complaints and Consultations)
We will accept and respond appropriately and promptly to complaints and consultations from users regarding the handling of personal information. We will also respond promptly and appropriately to requests from users for disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, refusal of use, or provision of the said personal information.
11. (Safety Management Measures)
The personal information entrusted to us by users is protected by implementing organizational, physical, human, and technical measures, such as restricting access to personal information files, recording access logs, and implementing security measures to prevent unauthorized access from outside. We prevent unauthorized intrusion into personal information, as well as loss, destruction, alteration, and leakage of personal information. In the unlikely event of a leak or similar accident involving a user's personal information, we will promptly report to the supervisory authority in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law and related guidelines and take necessary measures to prevent similar cases and recurrence in accordance with the instructions of the said supervisory authority. For details, please refer to the attached 'Personal Information Safety Management Measures.'
